"Summer fun and playground time in the park!"

I haven't been a good blogger this summer. My sister reminds me of that often and I remind her that I have this little thing called a job that keeps me somewhat busy.

So in honor of Garth & Kat here are a few summer pictures!
A little birthday celebration with trick candles. Trick candles are a lot more fun when no one is aware they are tricky, including the person that bought them.

By this time I was sure I was going to pass out.

A little help please!

The best way to make friends with a 2 year old is to give him a LARGE slice of funfetti cake!

We love our Olliepop!

My mom was so generous to take us girls on a weekend getaway! This was one of our many attemps at getting a good picture. Olive got spanked for looking in the wrong direction. Kidding Tiffany! To read more about this fun weekend go here.

Well folks, that about sums up my summer! A birthday and a getaway weekend and it's already September. Hope you had a happy summer!

a play date

There is no need for an alarm clock in this house! Not when I have a sister who gets woken up by two VERY sweet and VERY early risers and can't think of anything better to do but set up an early morning play date with me.

Someone won the contest for biggest smile and was awarded Mickey Mouse panikins!

Here is a close up in case you didn't catch the fashion statement he made.

The conversation went something like this:
Me: "Zeke can you smile for Auntie Cokes?"
Zeke: "No!" (emphasis on the exclamation point)

Me: "OK, well I guess we're not having pancakes today"
He thought about it for 1/2 a second and...BINGO!

Playing at the park!

Marching home with Mama & Olive - a nice end to a great play date!

A Sense of Accomplishment

We all face challenges in the workplace. Some bigger than others but challenges none the less. At the coffee shop it's the demanding customer who somehow manages to order the drink with the most words and can tell if the barista ruined it by just smelling it. It's Bruno, the reason for the sign "Beware: Killer Dog", who will stop at nothing to sink his teeth into the mailman's ankle.
My workplace challenge: Having 25 3, 4 & 5 year olds sit long enough to hear a Bible story. The minute my friend showed me this picture she snapped on Easter Sunday I knew it was blog worthy. I did it. I got 24 out of 25 preschoolers sitting on their bottom keeping their hands to themselves.
This is achievement at its finest.

Spring Crafting!

Spring crafting is SO much more fun than spring cleaning so I have been doing a lot more of the crafting and a lot less of the cleaning. It sure does make for a messy house but it's a CUTE messy house!

Spring Banner

My sister made one too and posted the tutorial here. I added some fabric flowers which I think are deliciously cute (and found the tutorial here)but now have a love-hate relationship with them. I may or may not have sewn and unsewn these flowers 3 times because the perfectionist in me couldn't deal with them being lopsided. They're still lopsided and I've decided it's cuter that way (mostly I didn't want to go for round #4 and then blame my inadequte sewing abilities on my husband...you know, do something really rational like that).

Super Cute (& VERY time consuming!) Wreath

Isn't the bird the cutest?! I found the wreath tutorial here and the bird tutorial here.

Green was not one of our wedding colors.

March 17, 2007
Yes, it was a very good day.

March 17, 2008
Spent the weekend in Santa Barbara eating, biking and exploring the town.
Mom's advice: Always hold up fingers representing the number of years you're celebrating so you never have to guess when the picture was taken. In this case it was a good move on my part to do this. From the looks of this picture I might have mistaken this night for a time we stayed up way past our bedtime and had one too many sips of somethin' somethin'. Thanks mom!

This, my friends, is our favorite place to get a good ol' Irish meal and the most fabulous, let me drown in this goodness, creme brulee.

Spent the weekend in Santa Barbara eating, biking and playing Risk. Lots and lots of Risk.

March 17, 2010
Spent the evening at Jeremiah's softball game. Enjoyed Corner Bakery for breakfast, sushi for lunch and Harvard Square for dinner. Dargan, sweet love, we missed you immensely this year. Don't worry, we'll be back next year (for the weekend). We won't be making this softball thing a tradition.
