"Keep trying, you'll get better!"

Daniel Tiger (the PBS show) is a new favorite in our house. The clever little ditty's get stuck in my head ALL THE TIME. I'm not sure if Sawyer is learning much from them but I feel encouraged to pick up blogging again after singing "Keep trying, you'll get better!" for the 857th time. A lot has happened since we dressed up our little leprechaun a year and a half ago (see last post). We welcomed two sweet (well, one sweet and one spunky) girls to our family, I quit my job at our church, Jeremiah picked up a second job to pay for the ungodly number of headbands and bows we now own and Sawyer continues to be on the move. HE NEVER STOPS MOVING. To start things off here, I'll share with you our favorite story from last week. Ava and Mia thought they needed some quality time with me so they opted to stay awake during Sawyer's nap. It's hard to get mad at them in all of their pink, chubby cuteness so I started taking some long overdue pictures of them.
And then BAM! In the middle of me blinking, that fast, this happened.
I was stunned for a moment. I'm not sure why I'm still caught off guard by blowouts because the amount of poop we deal with in our house is truly unbelievable. I picked up Ava, rolled up the blanket and took her to another room to get her cleaned up. I came back to find Mia doing somersaults (well, not quite) on the poop blanket that she unrolled all while flipping me off. We're so proud of her many talents.
I set Ava in the pack-n-play and moved Mia to the other side of my bed to clean her up. Not even a minute had passed when I turned around to check on Ave and saw that she was missing.
It didn't take long to find her and be back in my crazy reality of raising 3 kids, ages 2 and under.
I finally convinced the girls we'd have to try for quality time another day and I put them down for a nap. Sawyer promptly woke up from his nap because my children have made a pact to never let me get lonely. I reminded Sawyer that he had to play quietly because the girls were sleeping and then went about my business doing who knows what. I apparently enjoyed this business of doing who knows what a little too much and lost track of Sawyer. When I found him in the pack-n-play with Mia he said to me, "Mia is not sleeping anymore!"
Let me remind you, this is a true story. It happened last week so I'm probably forgetting some of the details because if I'm being honest, I don't remember what we had for dinner last night. Although I can tell you I didn't make it. I probably have In-N-Out or my neighbor Candace to thank. And if I'm being super honest, I typed 90% of this post wearing these.
It feels good to be back! Now I've got to go change a poopy diaper. Seriously.
